1Lynne HADLEY (daughter), 20011215 - Ann Jeffery (1).
I'm delighted to have found your pedigree on RootsWeb, although in actual
"Hi Rod,
fact, it was my nephew who found it. Ann Jeffery, you see, was mypaternal
grandmother. My father, Hilton Roy Rumble, was born at Stuart Town onthe
2nd of July 1902. He married Muriel Mary Morris on the 3rd of July 1937,
and they had eleven living children, two of whom died as infants and are
buried in the Valley of the Angels in Rookwood Cemetery, Sydney. Myfather
died in 1962, and is buried at Rookwood. My mother died on St Patrick's
Day 1982, and is buried at Charleville. Her date of birth is the 30th of
June 1914. Her mother was Essie Rebecca Holmes, and her father William
John Boyd Morris. His mother was Emily Jane Finnie. Her mother wasRachel
Solomon and her father Laurett John Finnie. Laurett emigrated as a child
from London to Australia in 1855. He was nine years old at the time, and
had been christened as an infant at St Peter's Brighton, Sussex. His
father was John Boyd Finnie, and his mother Elizabeth. Rachel Solomonwas
born in Sydney in 1849. I'm sorry to be so vague, but I've only justbegun
to shake the family tree, so to speak. I must say that I'm intrigued by
some of the things that have dropped from the branches thus far! Ann Jeffery was quite a character, by all accounts. If I'm ever regarded
as being eccentric, I think I shall blame it all on her! I hope theabove
is of some use to you. I close with the warmest regards,
Lynne Hadley."
