At the beginning of 1994 we were still living in Katoomba at 336 Katoomba Street (close to 'Echo Point Lookout'). However, in late February/early March we received a notice to quit because the bastard who owned the joint suddenly decided he wanted us out (this within a week of telling us what great tenants we were and how we could stay as long as we liked).
The excuse given was that he wanted to renovate, but here we are 11 years on and it still looks the bloody same!
We, at the time, hunted around for somewhere to rent that would allow us to have our pets and the only place we could find was further west and down the mountain at Lithgow. This is how we came to be in a lovely little three bedroom cottage quaintly named 'Gnome House' in the Vale of Clwydd which would be our home for the next twelve months.
